IMPERIAL VALLEY VEGETABLE GROWERS ASSOCIATION

NAMES NEW OFFICERS

 
The membership of the Imperial Valley Vegetable Growers Association recently elected the 2012 slate of officers.  JP LaBrucherie of LaBrucherie Produce was named President of the association.  Other officers named were: First Vice President Wheeler Morgan of Kelomar Inc. and Famous Farms; Second Vice President Andrew Colace of TFT Farms and Secretary/Treasurer Bruce Sanbonmatsu of Sanbon, Inc.

In addition to the new officers elected the board consists of Andrew Currier of Badlands Provisions, Inc; Larry Cox of Lawrence Cox Ranches;  Steven Dahm of Steven Dahm Ranches; Alan Luke of D’Arrigo Brothers; Richard Elmore of Sahara Packing Company, Stephen Emanuelli of J. Emanuelli and Sons, Robert Fleming of Spruce Farms, John Hawk of Horizon Farms LLC, Mike Iten of River Ranch Fresh Foods, Jeff Percy of Desert Mist Farms, Ken Peterson of Black Dog Farms; Frank Riddle of Grimmway Farms; George Stergios of South Valley Inc.; Brian Strahm of Artesias Farms.

New members to the board are: Danny Colace of Five Crowns Marketing and Robert Trimm of ECCo II.

An Advisory Board consists of Joe Colace Jr., of Five Crowns Marketing, Ed McGrew of Magco, Mike Sudduth of Mike Sudduth Farms and Jack Vessey of Vessey & Company.

Said incoming president JP LaBrucherie, "2012 will be both an exciting and  challenging year for the produce industry in the Imperial Valley.  I'm really looking forward to it all, especially working with such a great board of directors and dedicated staff."

Outgoing President Larry Cox said,” I'm excited that JP Labrucherie has agreed to serve as president of veg growers for 2012. He is a third generation farmer and his education and experience on farm make him uniquely qualified to lead our membership this year. I am looking forward to serving along side JP and our entire board.”

Currently, IVVGA represents close to two hundred members from throughout the produce industry in California that operate in the Imperial Valley.
