The Onion Seed Map in this office, will, again be available to post onion seed locations in Imperial County. Participation is voluntary. IVVGA has no legal authority over posted locations.
The purpose of this map is to allow seed companies and growers to review it for distance restrictions on pollination and varieties, and then communicate with each other as necessary. ONLY SEED COMPANIES, will provide pin locations on the map. All pinning will be done by IVVGA staff.
1. Posting for the 2011 harvest is - Monday, July 5th thru July 9th 2010. The enclosed location form will be accepted from seed companies at this time. Please note block location for gate, i.e., (N,S,E,W corner) along with crossroads . Growers need to give locations to seed companies prior to pinning date. Please deliver form by mail, fax or drop by our office. No locations will be taken by phone.
If you would like to pin a location after the pinning week (7/5 – 7/9/10), your pin must be within isolation requirements. If you are 3 miles near a pin already posted, you must contact pin’s Seed Rep to resolve any question of isolation before office will allow pin.
Please honor / respect pin locations already posted.
2. August 17th, seed companies will meet at the IVVGA office at 1:30 pm for last time and if grower’s pin is not valid, seed company will remove pin.
All isolation problems should be resolved at this point.
